MP3 (MPEG1 audio Layer 3) is original sound data from a CD, shrunk by a factor of 12 without sacrificing sound quality.
Layer 3 uses perceptual audio coding and psychoacoustic compression to remove all superfluous information (more specifically, the redundant and irrelevant parts of a sound signal. The stuff the human ear doesn't hear anyway).
An audio format developed by Microsoft for the compression of digital audio content. The method is similar to that of MP3, the only difference being it achieves a comparably good sound at lower compression rates.
Generally speaking, an MP3 compression at a rate of 128 kbps roughly compares in quality to a WMA compression with a rate of 96 kbps. This brings the advantage of a smaller file size. You can also hear music for a longer amount of time given the same memory capacity.
MP3 players are basically just the latest, and best audio products out right now. They offer many advantages over Walkmans, MD players and Portable CD Players with its main advantage being its size — most of them are small enough to fit in your pocket — while having bigger storage space.
Answer.
Most MP3 files are encoded as 44.1KHz, 128kbps. This requires 1MB for each minute of sound. If the average music length is 4 minutes, 32 MP3 files can be stored in 128MB MP3 player, while 64 MP3 files in 256MB MP3 player.
Let it drain first for a better charging process.
Yes, similarly it acts as a removable storage.
For Windows 98SE:
Make sure that there is no file transfer between the player and the computer. When the LCD of the player displays "Ready" constantly (Matsunichi model), you can disconnect the player and the computer.
For Windows ME/2000/XP:
Make sure that there is no file transfer between the player and the computer. Double click the "Safely remove hardware" icon (a green arrow at the bottom right corner of the screen) in the Windows task bar. Stop the player device (which should be named " USB Mass Storage Device"). When the computer notices you to remove the device, you can then safely disconnect the player and the computer.
Please note that Windows 95 and Windows 98 first edition does not fully support USB interface. Please upgrade your operating system to Windows 98SE (Second Edition)(4.10.2222A), Windows 2000, Windows ME or Windows XP.
Moreover, there is already a built in USB driver in Windows 2000, Windows ME and Windows XP which does not need an additional installation.
Please make sure that the AC adaptor is properly connected to the player when charging and that the player is switched on. Also take note of the following :-
Please make sure that there is valid song information in the ID3 tags, and that the information should be in English, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese coding format. You can edit the ID3 tags of the songs using particular MP3 player software.
MP3 players can support music files of bit rate from 32kbps to 320kbps and of sampling frequency from 32kHz to 48kHz depending on the model and manufacturer.
Matsunichi's MF166 and MF168 allows you to directly convert CD audio to MP3 files stored in the player. If you are using other models, you will need to convert the CD audio to MP3 or WMA format file by usign particular computer software to copy them to the player.
Download a media player application from one of several popular MP3 sites. Winamp (PC), MacAmp (Mac), and mpeg123 (UNIX) are popular MP3 players, but there are many others.
A ripper is to get a selection from a CD onto your hard disk and an encoder to convert the selection to an MP3 file.
Not if you download music legitimately. There are many websites selling or offering music for free. Check out the next question
